Toasty

Toasty is a fun and creative story. Who would have thought a piece of toast could be the main character of a great story! And it is well written and engaging. As the main character, the toast has emotions and longings and my little one easily felt a connection to him/her. And we didn’t really see where it was headed before reading it through. This is a fun story with a cute ending.

The drawings are simple, but my little one enjoyed them.

Cautions: The only thing I noticed is some dogs chase the toast to eat it, and my little one felt positive emotions toward the toast, so I had to explain the situation to her and remind her the toast was make believe. But that is truly a minor issue, especially since a story that can help the audience feel and talk through emotions with a little one is a big positive, so there’s really nothing to be concerned about with this story!
