Bright Winter Night

Written in rhyme, this is a cute story that my little one did like. It’s set in the woods and there is a whole host of animals that show up.

The illustrations are colorful and pretty and lean toward cartoons, but they are also realistic enough that my little one recognized all but two of the animals (the wolf and the bear we both needed to read the story to recognize.) It’s just not quite engaging enough to have my little one want this one read over and over. There’s no personality or character development to any of the animals in the story, so there was nothing other than the pictures for my little one to relate to but the pictures also lack any sort of personality in the animals so my little one didn’t connect or relate to the story much.

Cautions: Nothing that I see, just a cute story.
