The Old Truck
This story is a good story that could have been better. A parent can easily see what is going on, but my little one didn’t easily follow - which may be because the story is less than 100 words and so the writing is a bit jumpy and doesn’t flow well as a story. Part of the story has to be filled in by the reader’s brain. I’m fairly certain the author was trying to write an emotional story, but for some reason, be it the shorter length, or be it the illustrations, which are cute but cartoony and don’t convey emotion well, the story over all didn’t evoke emotion or really engage me or my little one. It’s definitely worth a read, it’s not a bad story or book in any way, it just didn’t elevate to the level of one we’d read over and over.
