Bear Has a Story To Tell
We love this one, story and illustrations. It’s a great length, the story flows and works with the illustrations perfectly. I don’t know art very well, but I’d say the illustrations are a tad bit impressionist, and we love them. They are clean and simple (which is not a negative comment), and don’t distract from the point. They communicate Bear’s emotions perfectly.
The main character, Bear, is one I would love if my little one imitated. Bear is a wonderful friend to the other animals in the story and one of the most endearing or admirable characteristics of Bear is his patience. It’s a strong teaching point for little ones hearing this story.
To top it off, a little one wouldn’t know this, but the story is clever. The ending is clearly for adults with a sense of humor or that appreciate good story telling.
Cautions: Nothing to worry about with this one!
