Mortimer’s Christmas Manger
We love Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman and we especially love, love, love this Christmas book. It’s not only a Christmas story but includes the Christmas story. The illustrations are adorable, and we rarely get surprised by where the narrative of a book for little ones is headed, but this one surprised us. One of the main characters is a mouse, and the story and illustrations really made me and my little one care and root for him.
This is one of our absolute favorite Christmas stories/books and we will definitely be giving it as a gift to others. We were impressed by the author’s ability to write a story about a mouse set in modern day but yet include the story of Christmas very naturally.
