Groundhug Day

Hugs, hugs and more hugs. This story leads to hugs, but honestly, we wanted more hugs based on the title! It’s funny, it seems like the story is more about several different holidays than hugs. The biggest questions my little one had were about Groundhog Day and why is the groundhog worried about his shadow and why was the bunny painting the eggs? Which did open fun conversations about shadows, shadow puppets, Easter eggs and Easter.

With all of that, the story is mostly about friendship between a bunch of cute little animals. And we like word plays.

Cautions: The animals argue on two occasions and the solutions to the problem they are facing at one point are a little aggressive. It’s a little disappointing too because they didn’t have to argue or speak the way they did, it’s not critical to the story and it could have been written differently.
